In between runs at State Capitol Raceway on Friday night, I talked to Attorney Robert Randolph of Baton Rouge, LA. He and I have been friends for well over 20 years, but I had not seen him for a very long time.
Robert was the person that showed me the advantages of the Digital Camera many years ago when I was still using tapes for video and film for cameras. I will forever be in debt to him for showing me his camera that would shoot video and take photos and let me review the results instantly.
Much of our conversation on Friday night was about roll models, leadership and family. We have mutual admiration for each other. I was very pleased with many of the things he had to say about me for keeping him informed over the past 13 years about what was going on at the track and with my car and family. It made me very sad to hear that he had lost his daughter within the past month. On the other hand, I was very pleased to hear that his son, who use to come to the track with him as a little boy, and take pictures and video, was now a Chef in Austin, TX at a very nice restaurant.
I am looking forward to seeing Robert again at the track, and I hope, this time, it will not be 13 years.
