Being selected as one of the Grand Marshals for the Port Allen, LA Veterans Day Parade was a great honor and one I will never forget. That was in November.

Barbara and I traveled to Nashville, TN for the Sunday School Publishing Board Convention. The event was held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Dec. 2-4, 2019. The resort is right in front of the Grand Ole Opry where many of our country music singers got their start. Barbara and I visited the Grand Ole Opry but did not get to take the tour. The convention was a 3 day, all day affair. I was enrolled in the Trustee Board Seminar and Barbara was in the Choir Seminar. Both were excellent.

We had our regular Herbert, Holbert, Morris, Gardner (and many others) Christmas Celebration at Granny’s home, as is the tradition. We are now into the great-grand-kid stage of our life. This year was special, Cynthia Hymon and Son-in-Law, George Hymon were here the help us celebrate. They stayed from the Sunday before Christmas until the Sunday after Christmas. We really enjoyed their stay.

I started the car twice in all that time, and it kicked off without any problem. I should be ready for the first February Test & Tune, and be ready to run in the first Friday night race. That should get me ready for the first Top Doorslammer race later in March.

I have been blessed to have the VA approve some equipment to help me around the house and in the car with my vision. For the past 3 months I have had personal, in home help from a specialist in Low Vision aids and equipment, and from the Low Vision department in New Orleans.

Barbara & Skip got a new car. It is a 2020 Lexus RX 350, Luxury Package, with every option that you can stuff into it. It will drive itself if you let it. The Owners Manual is so thick… and the Technology Manual is just about as thick. The dealer has special trained persons (4), that are full time Technology Experts to show new owners how to operate the tech. package. This is not a one time training, but anytime you want to come in, they are there to help you. The last car, you were on your own when you left the dealership. We only have about 500 miles on the car, and we love it.
